Felted Christmas Tree

Image
Saturday, Mumsy and I made a trip up north. Stopping to visit a friend in Clearfield and to visit "the Kids and babies". We thought since we were around the Ogden area, we decided to visit the Needlepoint Joint for the first time. Can I say, I now know where I want to live when I retire. I think, they have room for me. We had alot of fun there. I picked up three circular needles. One was a 60 inches. I didn't know they made 60 inches. I also found a fun felted Christmas Tree. And I bought the yarn for it and got the pattern free. I had it knitted up by saturday night. So, easy and fast. I threw the tree in the washer. I think it needs to go thru a couple more times, but it is still really cute, i think. Mumsy also surprised me by sending me a very cute planter. Isn't she the best?!!!

Rivendell Socks

I finished the Rivendell Socks, yeah!! It was sooo fun to knit. The pattern is very enjoyable. The only thing that wasn't so fun was the pattern doesn't give much guidance to line up the heel to pattern. So, I had to tweak it a little. I was knitting them for myself but they turned into a Christmas present. I can knit more. It was really fun. Oh, the yarn Kraemer Yarns Little Lehigh Pebbles, Rubber Ducky Lot 13641. I inherited this yarn. Nice and warm, and totally machine washable and dryable. Thanks to my lovely model Maggie.

Boo The Bat

I forgot I never posted a picture of "Boo the Bat". He is knitted from handspun yarn from my stash. I love bats. Isn't he adorable. I'm sitting here looking out the window, and watching the snow fall and watching the snow ploughs do their thing. I am so grateful for people that are willing to do the heavy lifting.

Columbine Peaks Socks

On my quest to find the most comfortable way (for me) to knit sock, I think I have found a winner! I just finished Columbine Peaks Socks from Cat Bordhi's book Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles . I use Berroco Comfort DK, 2 skeins = 356.0 yards (325.5m), Red 2751 dye lot 1064. I started the project in the early part of November, and used most of my Thanksgiving holiday to progress thru the first sock, but the 2nd sock I was able to finish in 4 days. I totally enjoyed this pattern and the yarn was very nice to work with. I am looking forward to my next pair of socks. I think it is time to pull out the Rivendell Sock pattern I bought. I also have reorganized my "office" at home to allow my drum carder, swift and ball winder to be ready for action any time. It is very exciting!! Mumsy and Taylor are exhausted by my unusual flurry of activity. It is nice to start a project and actually finish it.
