Sunshine on a cloudy day

We are expecting several days of rain here in Utah. But, I found a bright ray of sunshine...SHEEP!!Aren't they just crazy cute!! This is my first attempt at Intarsia, and I am having a blast. And the fact that is will be felted when I'm finished leaves me without any fear. I don't have to worry about the little holes or the sheep's lopsided bodies, it will all come out in the wash...yet it the wash...felting in the washing machine...ok, I know pretty lame.

I have been craving a little more time with my fellow knit-spinsters and have been kicking the idea around to host a monthly get-together. I find my self with more free time now that Mumsy has a beau. I'm not crazy about this new development, but it make her very happy and so I must learn to adapt. So, if there is any interest or ideas please let me know.

Oh I forgot to mention Sweet Pea celebrated her 1st birthday last week. Her mum put together the cutest birthday party with cupcake everything. Little favors and Sweet Pea had cupcakes on her tights and skirt and top and bow. It was so cute. She is very lucky to have such sweet parents that do so much for her.

My daughter-in-law is also selling unique baby slings and cute-cute girls dresses on Etsy. The slings are under Punkin Totes. And the dresses are under Sweet Plume. Check them out, she is sooo clever and creative.

Wonderful things can happen when you go to Three Wishes to borrow a ball winder, and take a super supportive husband, to whom you mentioned an interest in learning to weave. Then you find a beautiful but very lonely loom. This is the loom that wanted to go home with me. Mumsy was there for the whole process of adoption. It was a very special moment. Taylor's New Sweater

This is the finished Narragansett Bay Hat. It is a bit too small for an adult, but it is soft and lovely. The yarn was spun by Marty, and I got it from her at retreat this year. The yarn is so gorgeous I couldn't resist using the rest of the skein to make some special for someone special to me. So, Taylor has a new and very soft sweater. No pattern, I just kind of shaped it around her. She doesn't like things too tight, so it is good and stretchy. I put it on her and she immediately snuggled into it and went to sleep. She was warm and cozy.

Catching my breath

I've been in a strange funk the last month, obviously noted by my lack of blogging. My father passed away mid-September. Although not unexpected, the impact of how it affected me was a surprise. I have not been close to him, at all the last 5 years. Families are a bit complicated sometimes and this part of the family has had some trials. My wish being to not further complicate things within the family, I chose to withdraw and give them space to be themselves and allow myself the same gift. I miss my father and miss what we could have had together, if only thing were different. Love you Pop. On a much more fun issue, relating to fiber arts... Great Basin Fiber Arts Fair was a BLAST!!! Yes, it was very, very, very wet on Saturday, but our turn-out was not disappointing. We huddled in our tents and ran between raindrops and tried to stay warm.
